My William Cake is based on Australian Chef Karl Schumacher’s sumptuous recipe.
An exquisitely subtle infusion of pears blends beautifully with the two contrasting cream flavors of Williams-Birnen-Brand and brandy-vanilla. Enlivened with cinnamon, anise, cloves and allspice, the delicate balance of sharp and sweet flavors makes for a delicious, sponge cake based dessert. A sprinkling of pistachios provides the pièce de résistance.
